This piece is a collaboration of two traditional art forms native to Akita Prefecture; Kaba-zaiku and Magewappa. Magewappa is made of Akita cedar produced in Odate region. When you use this tea caddy, you will experience the unique feeling of Kaba-zaiku as well as the beautiful contrast of the cherry bark and the Akita cedar. In addition, this tea caddy also gives you a newer sensation for your tea experience. Its shape has an appealing elliptical curve and a unique double structure of Magewappa wrapped with cherry bark diagonally. Thus, this tea caddy is not conventional but expresses the unity of the old and the new.
